Victoria Jutras Kniering

Victoria Jutras Kniering’s installation, boundaries 1 .d no. 2, employs steel, bronze, and fiberglass, combined with natural materials to challenge the viewers’ perception of boundaries — real, imagined, and remembered.

Influenced by the indeterminacy of nature, light, and time, Kniering creates an “architecture of light” within and around her sculptural pieces that is inherent in nature. This installation interacts not only with the physical space it occupies but with the individuals’ perception of boundary.

Jutras Kniering has received Individual Artists Grants from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts in both 1995 and 2000. Her work has been shown extensively in one-person and selected individual shows.
