Ilona Anderson: Dwell

September 16—October 30, 2010

Ilona Anderson’s work consists of pearlescent ink on black and grey paper with black gouache. Drawing on aspects of Zulu mythology, fairy tales, and other cultural anecdotes from her native South Africa, Anderson creates site-specific installations that reveal society’s struggle to connect to our shared humanity in the age of globalization. Anderson assembles drawings into fragmented wall installations that both disorient and engage us in fascinating ways.
