A juried exhibition inspired by Arts & Ideas programs exploring food.
From the moment we are conceived, we begin a lifetime of consumption. All Consuming charts this trajectory. What we encounter along the way are the myriad of daily practices we engage in to facilitate this essential life process. From growing and breeding to hoarding and rationing, comforting family rituals to tools for emotional manipulations, Atkins and South Beach diets to veganism and cannibalism, from bingeing to purging, our survival is both dependent on, and thwarted by, our obsession with food.
Jurors: Johanna Bresnick, Denise Markonish, Sam Messer, Presented in Association with the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.
