Inscribed Surfaces: On Transient Histories

April 1, 2022 - April 22, 2022

Inscribed Surfaces: On Transient Histories is an artist project installed at 96 Orange Street as part of the exhibition Dyschronics, on view through April 16, 2022 at 50 Orange Street. The project features the collaborative work of artist Dawit L. Petros with women of the Horn of Africa living in diaspora in New Haven. Together, during a closed workshop over coffee, conversation, and henna-making, Petros and participants created multilayered drawings that reference modernist architecture from New Haven, migrations across the Horn of Africa, and the potential of relational connections across time and history.
