Finding a Line: New Haven is led by J Joseph of Acid Wood Skateboards and Steve Roberts of Push To Start. The Skatebowl initiative builds off of Push To Start’s mission of using skateboarding and art to encourage self-confidence, build transferable skills, and inspire civic engagement in the youth of New Haven. Finding A Line: New Haven centers neighborhood youth, local activists, shared stewardship, and community space.
Sk8babes was founded by Angeli Caliwara and Olivia Collins and is a community organization and social media platform that serves women, bipoc, and lgbtqia+ who are considered as “non-traditional” skaters. We focus on inclusivity and addressing disparities within the skateboarding community by hosting events, clinics and meetups. In doing so we hope to provide the most fun, welcoming, and safe journey through skateboarding. This iteration has been guided by Ben Ashworth, Dave Mutarelli, Brian Canavan, Garai Rice, Garth Ross, Ben Berkowitz, and Bobby Pourier.
