Dan Gries

Erector Square # C12
Dan Gries writes computer code which creates pictures, and produces high resolution archival prints from his work. He constructs complex rules to guide the creation of the pictures, but uses randomization to allow for variations in shape and color. His work focuses on motion, turbulence, and flow, and seeks to find a balance between entropy and structure. Dan lives and works in New Haven CT, teaching mathematics and computer science at Hopkins School.
