The Looking Glass
The Looking Glass series focuses on perception and memory. What information do we immediately assimilate, and what facts are we blind to? Most of our knowledge comes through some kind of a filter which changes and distorts.
I started photographing through different interfaces, like glass, water, fabric, screens, and plastic, focusing on the interface with its drips and spots, to see how those marks imprint themselves on the subject. The distant landscape, soft or blurred, is like the memory of something glimpsed for a second and then retained only in the mind.
