Mark: September 11

September 3—September 28, 2002

“Mark: September 11 was an installation consisting of 3,043 pieces of paper, one 2”x 5” piece to represent each victim lost on September 11, 2001. Each piece of paper was torn and painted individually, and then sewn together with the rest to create a visual count of lives lost. Created as an attempt to comprehend the enormous amount of life lost on September 11, 2001, this memorial installation was displayed in the Project Room at Artspace during the month of September, 2002 in order to commemorate the year anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center.”
