How do we relate to the objects, materials and concepts of home? Foreign/Domestic presented the work of nine artists who address the enigmatic quality of what home means, and how that vision can be altered through the manipulation of materials and objects from this personal space. These artists employ a wide range of mediums and approaches to art making, and all brought to the exhibition an altered notion of the home landscape – an approach incongruous to what is typically considered belonging to the home, or an alien use of what are normally domestic materials. The works they created investigate a memory of the sense and mapping with a different kind of language that is more intimate and personal.
