Artspace May Happenings

Join us for a special series of Happenings at Artspace, organized by the Visual Arts Committee, throughout the month of May.

Saturday, May 5, 6–8 PM: Ode to Walter Benjamin.

During our opening reception, come see Colleen Coleman transform Artspace’s long wall through her embodied graphite drawing. The work unfolds over a two-hour period.

Saturday, May 12, 3–10 PM: Illuminated Universe Artist Workshop.

Turn Artspace’s Gallery One into a spectacular night garden of self-illuminated sculptural forms and installations! Artists Hanni Bresnick and M. Michael McElderry will facilitate a one-day workshop for up to 16 participants. Some materials will be provided; participants will receive a list of suggested additional materials to bring to the workshop. Fee $10, free for Artspace members. Email to sign up.

Saturday, May 19, 6–9 PM: Night Picnic!

Join the artists behind Illuminated Universe for an exclusive night picnic in Artspace’s gallery-turned-night garden. Bring your own picnic dinner and blanket and join artists and friends for an intimate, unique experience. Cash bar. Email:
