Opening Reception: Between Beauty and Decay & Resident X

Saturday, Dec 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Location: Artspace, 50 Orange St, New Haven, CT

Join us for an opening reception of two exhibitions at Artspace.

Between Beauty and Decay, in the Main Gallery, is curated by Erin Joyce and features the work of: Basma Alsharif, Natalie Ball, Andrew Erdos, Nicholas Galanin, Starr Hardridge, Jetsonorama, Julie Pereira, and Kim Weston. Between Beauty and Decay, a group show that examines humanity in the age of conflict.  The show confronts with unflinching beauty and terror the realities of what happens when humanity is at odds with the “other” and the natural world.

Resident X, in the Project Room, is curated by Sarah Fritchey and features the work of: Jonathan Gitelson, Keith Johnson, Katie Jurkiewicz, Sam Messer, Dushko Petrovich, and Carmen Papalia. Resident X is a group show that introduces the idea of the “Artist Residency” as circumstantial form.

This reception is free and open to the public. Join the Facebook Event for this opening.
