City-Wide Open Studios Opening Reception

The Magnitude of New Haven’s artistic imagination comes to life! Find one work by every participating artist, arranged in a grid by weekend. DJ Dave Chambers at the turntable. Pick up your copy of the official map and guide and meet the artists!

Highlights of the evening include:

Noodles on 9: Town Green District presents the 2nd annual street festival Noodles On9 in New Haven’s Historic 9th Square.  Local restaurants will feature Noodle dishes ranging from ravioli to rice noodles! A selection of wine, beer and craft cocktails will be available for enjoyment.  Entertainment, merchant activities, and raffle prizes will enliven the evening’s festivities.  This event is free and family friendly. On Orange St and throughout the Ninth Square, 6-8pm. Learn more.

Neo-American Pre-Teen Day-Dream: John O’Donnell will be sharing a passive performance during the opening.  He will be meandering around the event wearing a costume and offering  a sneak peak of his upcoming installation and performance “Neo-American Pre-Teen Day-Dream.”  This installation will be on view at the Armory during CWOS. The Elaboratory Presents: Xperimental Libations: Answer a simple questionnaire and our skilled Lab technicians will select from a rainbow of colors, aromas, tastes, and textures to concoct a unique drink, just for you… The Elaboratory is run by artist Martha Willette Lewis, and Xperimental Libations is a performative art project involving the senses,  and science, both fake and real. At Artspace, 5-8pm. 

After Party at Cafe 9: After our opening reception ends, keep the party going at Cafe 9 (250 State St) for an opening reception for artist Katro and live performance by the George Baker Band, 8pm to late. Free.
