Festival Fundraiser Kickoff! at East Rock Brewing Company and Beer Hall
October 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us at East Rock Brewing Company and Beer Hall to celebrate the start of the annual Open Source Arts Festival. The kick off event will include artwork for sale and a fashion exhibition by the New Haven-based designer Tea Montgomery. Refreshments for purchase from East Rock Brewing Company.
Threads by Tea is wearable art handcrafted to inspire and empower. The mission is to directly challenge blocks in self confidence and motivation by helping others feel their highest and best selves. How we feel about ourselves is the pivotal factor in what we identify as success. Looking good and feeling comfortable in what we wear translates in how we feel about ourselves and how we perform. The same way we decorate our homes is how we decorate our bodies through wearable art.
Ethos is an introspective view of what drives the ethics behind what inspires us, what empowers us and where our confidence lies.
In a gallery setting, we will be presenting three (3) collections:
The Heroes – Superhero/Villain inspired streetwear. Accessing the duality of good vs evil.
The Jungle – Florals and animal prints. A play between beauty and danger.
Clarity – Futuristic. Clean lines. The result of processing our experiences and applying the gems to our higher selves.
Born and raised in New Haven, Tea Montgomery is owner/style architect of Threads by Tea. As a self-taught designer, Tea has been honing his talent for fashion design and wearable art since 2016. Through his wearable art, in the form of clothing and accessories, his mission is to inspire and empower others to realize their own potential and challenge themselves. As an all around creative he started with classical training in music as a youth, and has been able to explore his creativity through visual arts, music and event production, cooking and creative writing. Anything that entails taking an idea and bringing it to fruition.
