Greenscreen on the Green

Join Artspace New Haven for part II of a Green Screen pop-up workshop in collaboration with the Yale University Art Gallery at the Corner of Chapel and Church on The New Haven Green with artist Julia Rooney. Stop by Rooney’s large-scale painting Greenscreen, 2022 to explore photography in an alternate landscape. Using the green screen as backdrop, participants will photograph each other—with the option of incorporating various green props—and then learn to “key out” the background in Zoom, replacing it with scenic imagery of their choosing and creating unique photographic representations of themselves in alternate spaces. This workshop will be highly collaborative and experimental, with a focus on shared making and conversation. No prior experience is necessary and materials will be provided.

This program is part of generating, an Artspace programming channel focused on artist-led workshops, hands-on-making, and artistic experimentation. As an in-person program, Artspace New Haven encourages social distancing when outdoors. No registration is necessary.
