Fall Exhibition Openings: Ilana Harris-Babou: Revelations and Against the General Good/ Contra el Bien General with Bergman & Salinas

Join Artspace New Haven for the opening of two solo exhibitions, Ilana Harris-Babou: Revelations and Against the General Good/ Contra el Bien General with Bergman & Salinas, on view September 17–December 3, 2022.
Ilana Harris-Babou’s solo exhibition Revelations presents recent video installation, collage, and sculpture that uses the aesthetics of advertising and DIY influencing within wellness culture, to stage multiple revelations concerning Black self-formation within our all-consuming image culture.
In Against the General Good/ Contra el Bien General, artistic duo Bergman & Salinas present a new series of conceptual works including sculptures, wall-mounted mixed-media, photography, painting on canvas, sound, and text works. This body of work critiques how systems of capitalism corral the commons, against the general good for humans, non-humans alike.
This free public program is held in conjunction with both fall exhibitions, on view September 17–December 3, 2022. Food and refreshments will be provided. For in-person programs, Artspace encourages mask-wearing and social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within our community.
