CANCELED – Ceramic Sculpture Building: A Workshop with Kiara Matos PART 1

Join Artspace New Haven for a workshop with artist Kiara Matos. The workshop will be a hands on experience, in which participants will have the opportunity to experiment and understand the ceramic making process. The first part will focus on approaches towards hand shaping using 3 different techniques coil, pinching, slabs or a combination of the 3. The second part will be a glazing/finishing session where participants will be able to glaze their work using Kiara’s colorful glaze palette.
Second workshop will be held on November 19th, 2022 from 6-8PM. (See the Calendar Event HERE)
Participant ceramic sculpture pick up will be on Dec 3, 2022
Kiara Matos is a Venezuelan ceramicist, based in New Haven Ct. She found her voice through clay right around her first year in college, when she decided to drop out and pursue a life as a ceramicist. She learned the trade both by herself and through apprenticeships both in Venezuela and the US.
She now runs a studio/storefront in New Haven Ct.
