I Am an Archive

Join Artspace New Haven and for an artist lecture by Baseera Khan, entitled, I Am an Archive. Khan uses their own body as an archive, often employing a variety of multimedia collage techniques to visualize the lived experiences of people at the intersections of Muslim and American identities, both today and throughout history. Khan will discuss their body as a site of accumulations of experiences, histories, and traumas and also speak about their “Seat” series, for which Artspace commissioned a new sculpture, their installation Reading Room, on purpose, and “Psychedelic Prayer Rug” series. A short audience Q&A will follow the artist lecture.
